CRoNG Records

Genre: Heavy Metal

From Stockholm, Sweden the World is being bombarded with a good dose heavy metal made by five dangerous ladies. They are on warpath to let the world hear what real heavy metal is. Get out of the way, because here is Metalwar.

The album opens strong with We Are The Undertakers. The rhythm is tight and the music falls under the category interesting. It is heavy metal and there are no compromises. The voice of the still young Anni comes over strongly with a full sound and it shall let many metal hearts beat faster. She has a nice reach and uses her voice divided over the songs very well, with clean and a rawer sound.

Halloween is a very catchy song with tight rhythms and a very pleasant melody that invites to sing along. Actually it is pointless to say that it has a tight rhythm, because that counts for every song on the album. Hysterica certainly isn’t less compared to the bigger metal bands.

Hysterica is convinced that it were the girls who made heavy metal, what they clearlt show in the song Girls Made Heavy Metal, which is catchy just like Halloween and also this chorus has to been sung along with very hard (yes men, just sing along). Manowar apparently had it wrong that the gods made heavy metal.

There are also songs which come over less melodic and are more aimed on the harder riffs, like Louder and Metalwar, which reminds a little of Manowar. The Bitch Is Back is a good example of a song which had both elements. It has a hard, but also melodic riff that is just as catching as the previous songs, namely the part that comes before the chorus!

Good men will do well by not buying the album and not visiting the girls. They are pretty certain about what they want. In Heavy Metal Man they let clearly here what the like about a man. This song exists just like The Bitch Is Back out of harder riffs and a very pleasant and melodic chorus.

As a true finisher comes the fast Pain In The Ass peeking around the corner. The song has a very pleasant tempo and the chorus is even very fast with a very nice base drum in it. It is a song that surely will care for that the listener wants to hear more.

It is clearly hearable that there is a lot of experience in Hysterica. These are women who were already active in other bands and have taken these experiences with them. Not that Hysterica is really so unique (that is open for discussion), but the band makes heavy metal how heavy metal was meant to be, with melodic and purposeful solos. No tricks, but pure metal!
