The Monolith Deathcult

The white crematorium 2.0
Re-release
Twilight

Genre: Death Metal

The men of Monolith Deathcult got the itches again and they decided to put their album The White Crematorium on a re-release this album came out under the name The White Crematorium 2.0. This album is put in a complete new outfit and recorded in the brutal Trivmvirate style. Why the band did this re-release is for me a question and for the band a know. But I do know that the fans will get an answer to this question really soon.

The First song named Army of the Despised, starts with a German song, led by a sinister background sound while the German song continues. If the German song comes to an end the song transfers and the brutal musical burst comes out. The sign that the album has for real! It’s a good mood setter and the music kicks in hard with brutal vocals, a pumping bas and guitar plays, and bashing blast beats.

The breaks in Army of the despised are not for pussies. The changes in tempo are done quite well and they help to get the accent right on the power that the song contains. The song Army of the Despised runs in flawlessly on the song 7 Months of Suffering, and the bashing continues right away! Also in this song the breaks aren’t for pussies but musically they didn’t change a lot. The drums become somewhat monotone, the vocals in the slower part of the song sound like the vocalist has to vomit really bad and the blasbeats are nice, but you can overdo it. The guitar solo’s on that matter make up for a lot, the sharp edge of the guitar sound is quite hear able and in this case it’s a good thing, it rips away and provides that there is some variation in the album.

On some parts in the album the drum sounds a bit over compromised. I also want to put the attention to the instrumental song The Haunted Ravines of Babi Yar, an instrumental song, this grande I haven’t come across for a long time! The climax is super, it literally gave me the goosebumps. Now I have to mention the song Concrete Sarcophagus, in this song we will hear a 13 second silence in the middle of the song, this is really daring but it does the song good! The band also has added a little extra to the album, the song kindertodestanz, this is also really daring. The song sounds more like a Rammstein or Oomph cover and is thrown over the Cyber side of metal..

Short: A lot of ripping guitar violence, bashing breaks, lot’s of blast beats, musical very up-tempo and really variegated in the vocals. It’s sounds like metal, looks like metal, smells like metal, it is metal! Although I do have some doubts on the ‘extra’ they added but every band has to do something new from time to time, now don’t they? A good album, nice to listen to and very surprising. A good re-release if you ask me.
