Scale The Summit

Carving Desert Canyons
Prosthetic

Genre: Metal/fusion

Scale The Summit is a young (an average age of only 22) four-piece from Houston, Texas, that was founded late 2004 when guitarists Chris Letchford and Travis LeVrier met.

Several months later Scale The Summit was completed by drummer Pat Skeffington and bassplayer Joe Eberhardt. From the beginning it was obvious that the four youngsters would play instrumental music.

In 2007 they recorded their self-released debut album Monument, a testament of dedication and hard work. Magazines such as Kerrang and Rock Sound rewarded Scale The Summit with positive feedback, and the confidence to start with a new album after signing with Prosthetic Records in 2008.

Listeners to Scale The Summit say they are taken on a musical journey, so the guys have called their brand of music ‘adventure metal’. Carving Desert Canyons is a very dynamic CD with influences of Cynic, Dream Theater and the long forgotten Dixie Dregs.

The two guitarist come up with a lof of heavy riffs, which makes it hard to listen to the whole record, but luckily there’s always a melodic structure. The album only lastst 37 minutes and that’s enough for this kind of music. Take it in small parts!
