High time
Limb Music

Genre: Melodic Metal

I love the music from Scandinavia. I can do nothing about it, but when I hear good fine music it often is Scandinavian metal. Think about the music of Levarage, Burning Point, Lordi or Opeth. Excalion also is a band from Scandinavia. And yes, these guys of Excalion play music I love. In 2000, keyboardist Jarmo "Jappe" Myllyvirta founded the band. It would last till 2005 for Primal Exhale, their debut album.

After Waterlines in 2007 they recorded their third album High Time. Eleven new brand songs in the Melodic metal style they know best. It starts in the high gear with Enter A Life. A nice catchy song. The following two songs From Somewhere To Anywhere and Sun Stones are just as good and even better than the first song.

The music gets a really good groove and the band plays like a good team. The vocal capacities of Jarmo Pääkkönen are great. He is really a good vocalist. Besides the low parts he also sings the higher parts with strength. When I listen really well to the songs on the album, I recognize a little bit of Kamelot. Jarmo however seems to be a stronger singer and that gives the songs on the album just more power.

Excalion is just a good band that made an album that is beyond average. The songs are well built-up, it is easy to listen to and it would be a example for many bands because of the high quality of the songs. It is really High time to break through for Excalion
