Published: 27 Juli 2009Here I am, with my thoughts gone astray. I thought that melodic death metal had had its day. Then, out of nothing, I am served with the Israeli version of In Flames, Arch Enemy and Dark Tranquillity. In this case I don’t mind, as these guys know how to rock.
This does shatter right through your skull, makes your neck muscles start moving out of their own accord and you (in my case) right foot to start tapping to the music.
It is clear that I am enjoying this, especially when the tempo is as high as on the opener Failure Proven. Even when these guys slow down they do know what they’re doing. The further In Sin We’ll Find Salvation progresses, the higher the Arch Enemy percentage gets. No harm there, because the music presented is of a very high standard.
Just like with In Grief this music is as original as fish and chips, but you can’t help enjoying it anyway, just because it’s all so damn good. And having a clear and transparent heavy production only makes things better.
While I am writing this One Step To Drama kicks off and the goose bumps pop up all over me. My God, this is great. You often see a band that isn’t original get a lower rating, but if they are as good as The Fading, it is wrong, very wrong. That’s why I won’t do it. Compliments!
