It seems that the French are able to do more than munching on baguettes and drinking wine, this is proven by this album. Then again, Anorexia Nervosa did the same. A band where the vocalist of this band is also part of. This band calls themselves Industrial Black metal. On the latter I must agree, the black metal really is put in its right place, even though I believe its more modern black metal. Anyway, The first that kicks off on this album has a rather atmospheric intro, the effects that are being used are rather neat and tends to give you the idea that your listening to white noise. Furthermore there are meant dissonant pieces and influences of Bartok are quite noticeable with the guitar. A good beginning indeed.

On this album there are a few passages in the songs that make me uncertain whether or not they fit into it, I’ll just give them the benefit of doubt. The reason for this is because it doesn’t get any less because of it. The songs on the other hand are a bit too lengthy to my taste, its something you expect more with Progressive metal instead of this genre.

The production of this record is done pretty well. However, this Will be the exact point on which many black metal fans will completely dislike this album. My advice: Just try because it is most definitely Black Metal. Just give it a chance and don’t listen to the production if you don’t like it, Simple. But do listen to the quality of the music.

With the last song we heard a choir followed by a rather predictable drum riff aided by a damned tight double base. What is remarkable for a black metal band, because usually those aren’t that tight.

Conclusion: a long, well produced record with many epic and atmospheric moments and the ragged vocals add completely to that. This is for a black metal band rather accessible.
