Gallows End

Nemesis Divine
Farvahar Records/Nightmare Records

Genre: Heavy Metal

From the cold and mysterious Sweden comes a new heavy metal band that already made a promo CD in 2008. But now the band brings his debut full length album under the name of Nemesis Divine. The album starts pretty dark, but pretty fast they bring in the classical sound of heavy metal with powerful vocals. After some true heavy metal songs the band comes with The Curse. The Curse is a more melodic song and kind of flirts with power metal, which happens within Set The World In Flames as well.

With Not Your Own the band grabs back to the more solid heavy metal sound of the ‘80’s, the same as what they started with. The power of the songs is very overwhelming and the vocals just finish it off, with a topping from the solos. More and more bands really start to sound like a band and with that I mean, there can be found a unity within the music. The members of Gallows End really represent themselves as a unity with their songs.

But it is not all power and speed, because besides The Curse the band also has The End, a more mid-tempo song, where the lyrics seem to be very important as the music is pretty basic. And after The End it is just more power until the last song Riders Of The North, the longest song of the album that counts ten minutes! Something that might become a problem is to keep the song interesting the whole ten minutes.

Gallows End takes this song to a good end and have enough tricks to keep the song interesting, especially the way the singer uses his vocals is worth it to be mentioned. Nemesis Divine is a solid and diverse album that brings a lot of power for you to enjoy. Classic heavy metal with modern fury, a treasure from Gallows End, Nemesis Divine.
