AC/DC bring the Rock and Roll Train to the Bay Area

AC/DC is on a massive USA tour currently (see the recent New Jersey review for further). This tour brought the boys from ‘down under’ to the San Francisco Bay Area for two sold out nights at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, December 2nd and December 4th.

This meant the band lodged in San Francisco at a luxurious hotel (not revealed to protect the band). It was not difficult for some hardcore AC/DC fanatics to find the boys upon their arrival, and the week long celebration of all things AC/DC began!

As the band arrived at their digs, Angus Young came out to greet and sign for fans. He posed for photographs with lucky admirers, and signed guitars, albums, t-shirts, tourbooks, and more. Brian Johnson and Phil Rudd soon came out themselves to enjoy the San Francisco holiday atmosphere. They too greeted and posed with fans.

The next several days were filled with AC/DC appearances. The band was greeted with almost 35-40 people at one time, and Angus still walked up and down meeting every single person, inscribing lyrics on their items as he signed them. He posed with fans, holding the devil horns above his head, or simply giving a thumbs up to the camera.

The band loved meeting their fans, and the fans loved meeting them. One group gave Brian Johnson a bottle of Jack Daniels, which he gladly accepted. The next time he saw the same fans, he had some words for them about what the alcohol did to him!

As the week came to an end, the band left for their next stop on their rock and roll train – sunny Los Angeles, California – where the Back In Black Boys have two big shows at the famous LA Forum.
