Published: 01 March 2010At eight o’ clock the German band Bullet Monks has the honour to open the evening with a mix of rock and metal combined with some blues. The Germans seem to be enthusiastic and tried to convince the audience within half an hour playtime. The first three songs sounded pretty good and fun but after those songs it was all a bit monotonous. Unfortunately for Bullet Monks the support act isn’t well received again, with only a couple dudes banging their heads.

The lights muted at half pas nine and we all heard the almost famous intro End Of The Road pumping through the speakers. The crew carried Michael on stage and dropped him on the spot where he previously collapsed, right before the last notes of the intro he got up and asked us if we were still alive, cause he definitely was. After this humorous opening the band started with the song A Warriors Call, yes the song he couldn’t finish back in November.
With pretty much the same set list as the previous shows, Volbeat set off an active and, with every now and then some jokes, an interactive show. Hits such as Sad Mans Tongue and A Moment Forever are well received by the audience, and all the tough tattooed man beat each other out in the moshpit. Michael asked us right before the Misfits cover Angefuck, if we wanted to do a wall of love instead of a wall of death with the intention of giving each other a hug instead of running like some idiots that have seen to many Braveheart movies.

Besides songs from the previous albums, Volbeat brought us two new songs who will appear on the new album Beyond Hell / Above Heaven. After more then an hour Volbeat left the stage but came back for an encore that included the songs The Human Instrument and Still Counting.
A very successful evening with this time an happy ending. The next album Beyond Hell / Above Heaven will be released around September 2010, and another show will most likely take place in October this year.
