Anyway, it’s around 8pm now, and I’m getting excited for Staind. I’ve seen them two weeks ago on Rock Am Ring in Germany, and that show was pretty amazing, so I hoped for the best. But… no Staind. Another band Krezip is coming on stage, which is pretty big in Holland. That explains also the happy colours I’m seeing in the crowd. So the whole being on time part wasn’t even necessary, since it started at 20.40.
It finally begins.. And after a lot of screaming and yelling from the crowd, when Staind entered the stage, it becomes really quiet. The crowd is really looking like they aren’t even entertained a bit, while the sound is pretty good, and the band putts on a decent show too. Staind doesn’t really interact with the crowd, which is a real shame, and gives them a somewhat arrogant attitude. Only the guitarist really loves it, which you can obviously see, since he is bouncing all round stage.
Only during the well known songs, like ‘It’s Been A While’ and ‘So Far’ the crowd finally loosens up, even a small mosh appears for a few seconds. With ‘Everybody Changes’ the sky is the limit, and everybody is finally moving. Unfortunately the crowd returns to their old state after this song, and barely moves again, which really doesn’t contribute anything to the vibe on the show.

Staind has a pretty good night, instrumentally at least, and the sound was pretty good to. The only downside were the vocals, you could sometimes obviously hear that he just didn’t had the reach to get certain notes, so he turned it into a grunt or silence
To finish the night up, there was a beautiful ballad, which caused the entire venue to be completely quiet. This because it was done without any mics or amplifiers, which definitely gave something extra to the whole concert, and was rewarded with a crowd that went completely crazy when it ended.
