Alice in Chains are back, and they are not messing around. They are currently on tour in North America celebrating the release of their great new lp, Black Gives Way to Blue. They brought their sold out show to the refurbished Fox Theater in Oakland, California, on February 11th. Spotted in the crowd were Metallica's Robert Trujillo, Faith No More's Mike Bordin, and baseball manager Tony LaRussa.
The band held a meet and greet before the show for lucky radio station contest winners and VIP guests. Jerry Cantrell and company signed posters, albums, guitars, and posed for pictures.

The show itself opens very dramatically, with the band playing behind a large curtain, with their shadows projected on the curtain. And the songs, both old and new, sounded great. Whether it was Check My Brain, Rooster, or Again, Jerry Cantrell and William DuVall have a special way of harmonizing their voices to reach that unique Alice in Chains signature sound. The crowd loved every minute of the show, and the band seemed to have as much fun as the fans. The bad is very focused musically, and the crowd responded with non stop appreciation.
Jerry, Mike, Sean, and William stuck around and mingled with fans after the show also, before boarding their bus to Los Angeles, their next stop. If Alice in Chains come to your town, do not miss out!
