Published: 27 January 2009Zemaitis guitars have a logo – Art with Strings – which summarizes their beautiful products up perfectly. Zemaitis had a booth at NAMM which brought customers to a stop to examine these modern works of art. No wonder the likes of James Hetfield, Keith Richards, Zakk Wylde, Vivian Campbell, Gilby Clarke, Sully Erna and many, many more enjoy playing and showing off these instruments.

Zemaitus guitars was begun by the late Antanus ‘Tony’ Zemaitus, born in London in 1935. His works of art have carried on to today’s line of guitars, which include the Disc Front series. The original Disc Front was made for Ron Wood and no two guitars were ever identical. Engraver Danny O'Brien has created Disc Fronts which include engravings of leaf scrolls, mermaids, wise owls, an angry dragon, and more. As Zemaitus says: ‘Here is a chance to have a piece of rock and roll history!’
The Metal Front series feature full bodied elaborate engravings, including a skull and cutlass design, a bold leaf scroll design, and more. There is a bass series that has similar metal facing.

Not to be limited to metal, there is a Pearl Front series, which incorporate numerous different unique designs in a pearl motif. There are also Superior, Standard, and Sculptured series for those with varying tastes and budgets, not to forget an entire acoustic series. And if you want to keep your metal guitar metal, there is a flying V shaped ‘GZ’ series.
These guitars are a treat to look at, let alone own one. Check them out at the Zemaitis website.
